Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park
So, a few weeks ago I made my first trip to the West Coast to tour the Olympic Peninsula. Our first stop was Olympic National Park!
Watching the weather before we flew out, I was worried snow would keep the road to Hurricane Ridge closed during our visit. Lucky for us there were beautiful blue skies the day we visited and the snow was cleared from the roads. We only had a few hours one afternoon to spend driving up to Hurricane Ridge so conditions weren't perfect, but it was still breathtaking. I live in a valley so I'm used to seeing mountains, but the Olympic mountains were really something else. Such tall, jagged peaks capped with snow and skirted with tall evergreens. I'm bummed that I got a little lens flare in this photo, but I decided it was worth keeping for the cool thing going on with the clouds.
