Nice Day at Lake Shenandoah

Once again my weekend was full of missed photography opportunities, but here's the one new shot I did take. Yesterday was a beautiful day, even if it was a tad cool for this time of year. We even had a frost warning last night!

 

I've taken many, many photos of Lake Shenandoah before, but all of them at sunrise. So here's what it looks like during the day. The lake is very popular with fishermen. Most of the fishermen I see out there are very respectful of the lake and keep to themselves. However, there were a couple of guys in a boat yesterday acting like jerks. The lake is also very popular with ducks, and as the fishermen were boating around 4 white ducks were following after their boat, probably thinking they had food. One of the fishermen then thought it would be funny to try to "catch" a duck, so he threw his fishing line out at them! The line caught on the foot of one duck, which immediately tried to swim away with the others. Of course, he couldn't. The fishermen reeled the poor thing all the way to the boat, with the duck struggling the whole way. I watched, ready to give them a piece of my mind if they hurt that duck, but fortunately they were smart enough to free the duck from the fishing line and let him swim back to the group. Idiots.
