In Search Of Fall (Shenandoah National Park)

On Saturday, I met Christine, Deb Snelson, and Ryan in the park for some early morning photography. It was a lot of fun having so many other photographers to shoot sunrise with! Unfortunately, the sunrise itself was rather unspectacular.

After the sun was up, I went out in search of Fall foliage. It's still early in the season, but after this weekend my weekends are all booked straight through to November. I do most of my photography on weekends, so I felt like it was now or never for Fall photos. The park foliage is maybe 40% - 50% changed right now, but I found this nice curve in the road with some good color. It was pretty windy on Saturday, so I decided to shoot this one handheld. In order to get a fast enough shutter speed, I had to shoot at ISO 800 and underexpose the shot by almost 2 stops. The result is a little granier than I'd like, but weather doesn't always cooperate and sometimes I have to just make it work.

Hopefully this won't be the only Fall photo I get this year!
