Sunday's Sunrise

Another weekend awake before dawn. At least this sunrise was worth it! I got bored with going to the national park, so I decided to visit Lake Shenandoah instead. Believe it or not, this is only a small portion of the amazing colors that lit up the sky yesterday morning. The sun rose off to the left, where the colors were even more brilliant.

I think I've mentioned before that one of my favorite things about early morning photography is that there are very few people around. There's no traffic, no bad driver's, and no obnoxious tourists ruining my photos. When I got to the lake Sunday morning, there was already a fisherman there getting his gear ready, but that isn't totally unusual. I set off to get my gear ready to shoot the sunrise, figuring that I wouldn't be running into him again. Well wouldn't you know it, out of the whole 36 acre lake, he decided to go fishing 20 feet from where I set up! Luckily he didn't do anything crazy, like try to make conversation. I don't do conversation before sunrise.
