Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. It is a great park for an abundance of wildlife and major watering spots where you can also spot huge crocodiles and hippos. It derives its name from the Chobe river, which runs through the park and is the border between Botswana and Namibia. If you look closely, you can see Namibia across the river.
The spectacular aspect of the park, was that our lodge was situated right on the banks of the Chobe River. How cool is it to walk out of your bungalow, straight to the boat to go off and view hordes of elephants, buffalos and other wildlife..
Swimming (and wandering around in the evening!) was strongly discouraged, as you might encounter an angry croc or hippo!
