The Nasrid Palaces

Comares Hall

Throne Room, or Hall of the Ambassadors.

The most impressive feature of the room is its ceiling. This is a great wooden framework representing paradise, which, according to the Qur’an, is formed of seven superimposed skies, symbolised here by successive wheels of stars. In the highest heaven is the throne of God.
