Launching from a crabapple tree, Boundary Bay.

 

I'm hopeful these beautiful hawks will stick around Boundary Bay through the winter. Although they breed in the Arctic, they make their way south during the fall - most to the Interior's Creston Valley, but a few fly to the Coast.
