Barn swallow with fledglings

These youngsters had very attentive parents. Here a fly was delivered to one and stuffed deep down its throat, but he simply couldn't keep hold and the fly escaped. I actually did not realize this miscue, until I examined the shots on my monitor. In the preceding frames, this rather distinctive fly is clearly shoved into the young one's beak.
