Blackstar Arms
Prototype of the Blackstar Arms rifle, a project I was working on with some friends in 2006. Ares Defense took this same idea and just this year (2014) introduced the Ares SCR, which as you can see is pretty much the same thing.
There has been a lot of excitement in the last couple years about 3D printed guns. Well, we were doing it in 2006, as you can see from the photo.
Because it is illegal for a non-licensed manufacturer to manufacture and sell a firearm, and of course the service bureaus we used were not licensed FFLs, we were careful to send them designs for incomplete or "80%" receivers, which one of the partners would complete on his home mill.
This rifle was actually used in 3Gun competition.
