Brat Tor, Dartmoor, Devon, UK

Dartmoor in winter is a theatre of light. Conditions like this never last for long. The wind was so strong I could only shoot from behind the shelter of the tor, using my body weight to brace the legs of my tripod. As the setting sun broke through a gap in the cloud, the hills were swallowed by the advancing storm front. Less than a minute later the light was snuffed out and the hills disappeared from view as the advancing wall of freezing hail struck the tor where moments before I snatched this image from the teeth of the storm.
