A great shot of a seldom seen car. This was not about practicality but looking at it now, popping the hatch open on this low-sitting car probably made putting the shopping in quite easy! Enough of that though, the L O T U S lettering across the rear is iconic, though the rest of the styling perhaps less so.

Another one that passed me after I'd created this gallery - of course! Why I hadn't I considered the original RR before? Glass upper hatch and dropping lower hatch- I will, no doubt, be corrected but this has to be one of the most innovative features of its time. The flat fold rear hatch was said to be popular as an ideal sitting/picnic place at outdoor sporting events (Polo, racing, etc.).
For a vehicle released in 1970 this is the earliest examples of the glass hatch I've found so far.
The snapper of this pic is a Land Rover fan I think and has caught this one, which looks like an original factory registered car.

Another very rare car, I'd never even heard of these, I think Matra was a low volume French manufacturer who hit the big time when they won the contract to build the Espace for Renault. This Bagheera has more than a little resemblance to the Bitter CD higher up in this gallery, with a vast glass rear hatch - for god's sake don't break it!
Nothing here yet.
