Light Study 1
I took a little trip down to Virginia to see what Fall color was still there. Unfortunately, Great Falls National Park was not open at the expected time. It was supposed to open @ 7am but no one showed up. A nice lady had called the Park Police and they said someone would be out to open the gate but after an hour no one showed. Many others and I left of course. Fortunately, I noticed there was another park on the Maryland side of the Potomac and decided to head there instead.
Luckily the Park on the Maryland side (Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park) was open. The views are not the same and since the Island seemed to be under construction/restoration (closed) many of the views I was hoping for were not visible. Still it was a nice few hours along the Potomac/Canal.
The Sun was up but still behind the mountainside when I arrived, and I had a chance to take some shots with the light illuminating certain scenes (indirectly) then a couple hours later, on the walk back get those same scenes under more direct light. I thought it would be interesting to show you the light affecting the mood of a scene just hours apart from each other.
