Look no gardens
The current southernmost extent of Loughborough. Three fields now separate the town from Quorn at the closest point, and not much more to Woodhouse. These are pseudo-grandiose and superficially individual, detached houses to sell for the maximum amount of money per acre; the garden space of each is pathetic.
Also, the (very new) paths on the (bland) grassy slopes in between some of these houses were flooded, and it hasn't really been that wet. But hey, the developers have been and gone. You pays your money and, well, that's your lot.
Out of shot, to both the left and the right, are big signs over fields stating that they have been acquired for residential / property developments.
I wonder how long it will be before Leicester and Loughborough eventually join up into one, long suburban corridor, swallowing the small towns and villages in between. Guessing not very long, no matter how much influence and petitioning the residents of the increasingly surrounded settlements have and do.
