Sneak peek of a course that was served to our neighbouring tables. The MESSI – a dessert inspired by chef’s favourite Barcelona Football Club and player Lionel Messi - is presented in a soccer-bowl, decorated with "football" astro turf and an iPod playing a ‘live commentary’ of a Messi goal in the background (a concept similar but not quite the same as Fat Duck's Sound of the Sea). We heard the commentary from our seats but wasn't sure what it was about (spoken in Catalan, I believe). Diners were instructed to ‘score’ by knocking the soccer ball (chocolate bonbon) into the ‘goal’ (the actual dessert).
This was fun to watch.
