Cholla Garden Sunrise - Joshua Tree
Cholla cactus garden illuminated by a spectacular desert sunrise in Joshua Tree National Park. The cholla cactus is famous for it's dramatic way of catching backlight from the sun for hours after the sun has risen and hours before it sets as well. Don't get too close or they may stick to you.
Wild wind on that day and too many exposures at different settings to catch a sharper shot. Even thought I would make it back to many more desert sunrises here, I just kept trying. It's funny but every ti
me you visit the cholla garden with a group you have someone who is lucky enough to come back full of spikey desert donut balls!
