Lower Ruckel Creek Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, AKA Mossy Grotto, an area I fear has most likely been damaged by the fire last year. Images coming out of the gorge sadly show that many areas will not look the same as they once were in our lifetime. They will grow back and green will return but it will be forever changed due to the loss of large mature trees. While this isn’t a highly visited falls due to the difficulty getting in there, many in the gorge were very popular. A story like this should be enough to tell you to visit and photograph things that interest you when you have the chance....they may not always be available to you.
