Fast-food rubbish in a nice place off Hamstead Road, Handsworth, Birmingham

I wonder what's in the minds of whoever it was dropped this trash in sight of two litter bins. This place must feel alien, not theirs. There's a lovely mosaic close by and attractive railings too. Is their any sense in the mind of the litterer that this sight might cause another to feel depressed and vexed? It's small beer in the great scheme of things, no worse than spitting on someone's shoes. I've never met a litterer. I wonder what they'd be like; what they'd say to me if we met in some other context and the matter of throwing away fast food wrapping in a public place were to arise in conversation. Would they talk of being out of work, of alienation? What? Why? I'd like not to feel so annoyed by this when there are more serious concerns...like education, employment, health and a better life. I'd like not to feel that there are people who are my neighbours who don't care about their surroundings.
