2016 - The half year
Another year down and another mass set of builds and a look back and have a combination of delightfulness (I built THAT?), disappointments (so few?), and utter joys (Remember that collab?).
This year was a weird one, but every year seems like that?
It started off incredibly strong, leading up to Brickworld - so many collabs and my most ambitious collab of all - BattleSHIP -
I gotta take a the time to properly thank these insane gentlemen for not just accepting, but taking up the BattleSHIP challenge with gusto:
Adam M, Bart L, Tim C, Daniel C, Benny B, Alec D, Nick J, Caleb W, Tim S and Evan B (you didn't build a SHIP, but you built a lot of board and kept me sane).
Also huge shoutouts to the Cooks, Arisa and Kevin/Alison last minute brick that we left in Toronto - without all you wonderful people this crazy dream would have never have happened.
It was logistically one of my most difficult endeavors and it turned out fantastic- I'm so glad I was able to share it with such a wonderful cast and crew ....
But yes, so many great things happened this year, our continued Borderlands pewing sessions, which transitioned in to Overwatch - and the resulting Borderlands Collab - definitely one of the funest collabs, it was great to be able to build out the Hyperion force with Evan B - most of it in secret from the rest of GamerLUG.
And then the great Overwatch Building Race of 2016 - which kinda spontaneously happened - to build out characters before others did - twice! Shoutouts to Tim S and Nick J on pushing my character building to whole new levels, you guys are the best (Why did we not take a picture of them all together?!?!)
And lets not forget the other collabs:
Es Car Go, Mini Putt, District 9 (where were the pics Josiah?!), Tech West, Fallout Shelter, the epic day before Information Super Highway -if not the colalb itself, getting to spend the few days with Papa Carter and his thoughts on everything was refreshing and super useful (now that knowledge is mine muahhaahah). and the accidental BlackTron drive in. Not to mention all the dulpo action from Brickman Graeme
Oh boy.
Funs.
But the year was all about people - which I'm always so delighted to be able to spend time with, both in person, online, playing games, and collaborating. And while I didn't have any outstanding solo builds this year, I was really happy to have played small parts in many other people's dreams :)
... man ... 6 months to Chicago.
Time to start locking down those collabs - so who's doing what? hit me up!
Hope everyone had a great year, and here's to the new one!
