Victoria Crowned Pigeon (Goura victoria) The Victoria Crowned pigeon is considered the largest surviving species of pigeon on Earth. It is distributed in the lowland and swamp forests of northern New Guinea and surrounding islands. Its name commemorates the British monarch, Queen Victoria.
