(52) week 44. strength.
My strength comes from my family. My willpower, my optimism, my outlook on life - all because of my family.
My parents being the optimistic people they are always have a smile on their face. As a result, I've always got a smile on my face. There's a rare day you'll find me being pessimistic, although I had a bit of a fallout when this semester began and I started to have a lot of negative thoughts about my future. Those really ground you though, always expecting the worst? Sometimes optimism makes you over-confident about things, and that always ends up having a bad result.
Either way, back to strength. I spent this weekend with my family. I took some time off homework and school. It was the very bright and colourful Diwali weekend, kicking off this wonderful festival season of the year. I love going to the temple (or Sikh Gurdwara) to celebrate Bandi Chhor Diwas (for us Sikhs) or Diwali. It's a beautiful sight to see the community come together and celebrate. I took this photo at the temple, where everyone brings their own candles from home, and lights them up outside the temple in a little tent (to save them from the cold wind outside). Such a warm place to be. This was only one side, and doesn't show all the people that were crowded into that tent...but my fingers were numb after walking into warmth from a chilly night. I loved it though!
