S&R - 107 - Instruction #1
S&R - 107 - Instruction #1:
Let's explore the connection between our dreams and our perception"
Since a couple of days I don't get much sleep. For no obvious reasons my nights end around 2am. Until I have to get up, I spend hours lying in bed - neither asleep, nor fully awake. Semisomnulent I think about the events of the previous day. While my thoughts get gradually blurred, it becomes harder to differentiate between fiction and reality. It doesn't feel like dreaming, but reality is somehow altered. Every now and then something unexpected or weird happens, which makes me startle. I'm fully awake again and the same procedure starts all over again - like in a loop. It feels as if there is a guard watching the hazy border between reality and dream, sending me away each time I come to close to the line where consciousness and unconsciousness meet, pushing the reset-button and commanding me to go back to the starting point to try again.
Due to the constant lack of sleep, I felt a certain fatigue over the last few days. I went to work in this condition and when I found some time for shooting this Sunday, I honestly didn't really think much about the instruction. Not until I passed this passage, where a new shop for cloths had opened. Experimenting with the reflections caused by the shop window, the instruction suddenly popped up, as the two converging layers - reality and the reflection of reality - reminded me of my nightly experiences.
