Inspired by a recent photo on Instagram by local photographer, Danny Armstrong (check him out @danny.armstrong2), I had to discover Trevaylor Woods (near Penzance) for myself!
With mist forecast overnight, I hoped for some to linger early in the morning - the sort of conditions Danny had. But it wasn't to be. I still enjoyed discovering a new location though - which I'll no doubt return to in the future.
This shot was composed with the path leading towards a patch of sunlit trees. I don't typically use paths in my scenes, preferring more of a natural look. But as this path is pretty subtle, I went with it. I liked how the path twists in the immediate foreground - framing the bottom of the shot with a swathe of ivy. I decided not to narrow the aperture or focus stack - leaving the immediate foreground out of focus.
