Day 11 of Gratitude
Auntie-Nephew Dates
Apparently my nephew has been asking to hang out with me a lot lately. Today was a great for it, sunny but not too hot. I took him mini golfing, which I haven’t done in so long. We went to the first hole, one where the ball disappears and come out a pipe somewhere else, “You do mine for me Auntie.” and off he ran. At that point I was thankful he got in free because he is not going to be doing any golfing. It wasn’t a date full of hitting a ball with a club but it was still fun. My nephew caught every ball that came out of a pipe with his hat. He ran around so excited by everything; a swinging fish as big as him, a water wheel, steam engine, loopty-loop track and, his favorite, the out houses. He was the sweetest most adorable boy. I haven’t spent time with him in a long while. Not like this anyway. It's funny how you can live in the same town as someone, see them as much as I see him, and yet still miss out on the fact that I live near him and can do anything I want with him, whenever I want to. I’m pretty lucky.
Unfortunately I wasn't being a very good Auntie when I took this shot. He got the ball in the hole all on his own. It makes for a cute capture but I can't help but feel guilty that he was so excited and here I am behind a camera. Mind you he is probably use to it. I still feel bad. I love this boy to pieces and I am so thankful for our date.
