I really liked how this conversion looked. I thought I would post it for you.
Corona Arch is one of the more spectacular arches in the Moab Area. The arch is large enough that a local pilot has flown his private plane through the arch. (You can see a large photo of this event in the Moab Diner. The pilot uses the nom de guerre "Arch Enemy".). This 3 mile round trip hike leads you through beautiful slickrock country with views of the Colorado River. The hike ends at the base of two magnificent arches: Bowtie and Corona. Corona Arch has an opening of 140 ft by 105 ft.
The Arch, along with its companion "Bowtie Arch" is reached by a 3 mile (round trip) hike and climb off Utah Scenic Byway 279 (Also called "Potash Road"), off U.S Hwy. 191 north of Moab. The hike includes a climb up a wire rope with steps cut into a rock cliff and a ladder that finally gets you up to a slickrock bench that leads you around to the base of the arch. Well worth the effort. You will pass a register tablet on your way in just before your cross a railroad track. Please register when you leave and make whatever comment you have about the place.
