Cosmic Night

How wonderful would it be to spend a night gazing up at the stars and sitting by a waterfall not frequented by many. Driving through Yosemite is always rewarding, all you have to do is stop and explore, magnificent scenes emerge by themselves. My initial drive through this area helped me discover this scene but the time was not correct so I could only visualize this galactic alignment through the photopills app. I made another long drive just before this seasonal fall dries up as escaype predicted clear skies in the region. To get the right light, I shot the foreground after sunset and tracked MilkyWay from the higher ground within a short span. All things have to work just right .

Fuji XT-2, Vertorama Composite, Foreground: 24mm, F4, 4 sec, ISO 400 (7 shot pano) MilkyWay: 24mm, F2, 120 sec tracked, ISO 640 (8 shots stacked for noise reduction and extract details) LR + PS
