Once bitten...but not particularly shy
This younger female white shark was sporting a bite mark from a fellow white shark just above her right gill slits. The curious thing about this injury is that there are no apparent markings from the lower jaw. The most likely explanation for this is a quick "swipe," in which the upper jaw made contact, but a full-on bite did not occur.
This particular individual was new to Guadalupe last season and has yet to be assigned a name through the identification project, as far as I know.
