Signs in four languages (English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu) proclaim that this is the lane through which Gen. Dayer led his forces to massacre thousands of innocent Indian civilians who had gathered for a local festival in the Jallianwala Bagh. This is a closer view of the English sign about the massacre.
