Beautiful statues on sale, turned out by the handiacapped
Ah, now we are talking! Looking at this display of beautifully turned statues, I was probably right in my assumption that the chaps outside were not the actual artisans turning out these masterpieces but merely technicians polishing and finishing the statues received from the workshop. Just look at how beautiful and pristine the statues look here! In particular I love the white of Guanyin in the foreground! Guanyin, also called Gwun Yam in Cantonese, is the Buddhist bodhisatava of compassion. Usually (but not always) depicted in the female form, Guanyin is also referred to as the goddess of mercy.
