acquired when the Convent of Santo Domingo de Portacoeli in Seville was broken up in 1840. This sculpture is one part of the altarpiece known to have survived. Reliefs of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Trinity were transferred to the Church of San Bernardo, but were destroyed when that church was set on fire during anticlerical rioting in 1936.
