I'm the Lifestyle Editor for Forever MX-5 magazine. (It's the magazine which was initially Miata Magazine, then turned into Mazdasport.) We're returning to our roots as the magazine dedicated to the enjoyment of the world's best-selling sports car.
By the way, that's my Brilliant Black '96 NA in the middle. (And no, the magazine didn't buy it for me; I've had at least one open two-seater for the past 25 years, and wouldn't be without one, even in Oregon.)
My role is to highlight what people are doing around the country with their Miatas. Not just Spec Miata (the editor-in-chief is an ex-SCCA Regional Executive, and I enjoyed my first Solo victory in a friend's Miata in 1992, so we have a lot of motorsport depth on staff), but clubs, touring, fun mods, and just expressing the joy of these cars.
My ongoing role will be to celebrate what fellow Miata enthusiasts are doing with our cars around the country, and who better than Flickr users to contribute photos?
If you're interested, Flickr mail me with a paragraph or two on you and your Miata: how long you've owned it, is it your first, what kind of mods you've done and perhaps most important, what you do WITH the car. (In fact, that's the focus of my article: there are people who do things TO their cars, and people who do things WITH them, and we want to celebrate the second group.)
We'll be happy to send you some schwag (we're talking license plate frames at the moment, just what everybody needs ;-) and, of course, some complimentary copies of the magazine with your photos in it.
If you're a professional photographer or photojournalist, please feel free to drop me a line with a query about feature ideas as well.
I hope you'll participate, and that you'll reply with a short description of your car, where you live, and some of the things you've done to (but most importantly, WITH) your Miata. And if you have a selection of some of your favorite photos, let me know.
