laundry in the courtyard

this is the courtyard for my bulding. it's such a bummer that the super keeps the garbage and recycling bins out here (the building across the way doesn't, they have flowers and plants). lots of my neighbors hangout on the front steps of the building and endup blocking the door which can be annoying when you're carrying in a bike, groceries, or taking the dogs in/out. i really wish the courtyard could be a hangout but right now it smells like dirty dirty diapers. and all the rain we've been getting doesn't make that smell any better.

 

my neighbor talked to the super about putting plants out there but he wasnt very responsive. if i was planning on living here longterm then i'd try to do something about it but seeing as we'll be moving soon, i just dont see the point. it's still a shame though.
