It is shocking how lax the traffic safety laws are in India, with respect to riding motorcycles. Here we see a family of 4 on a motorcycle, 3 of whom aren't wearing a helmet. You can imaging what would happen to the 3 in an accident! Many motorcycle drivers I saw did not wear helmets, leather clothing, or bright colours for their safety, though many wore face masks because the air pollution.
Looking into this further, I discovered there are about 500,000 road accidents a year in India, with over 130,000 deaths - about one road death every four minutes. Sadly, 16 children die everyday on Indian roads!
