Out for a Stroll
I tried to capture my impressions of India by taking interesting street shots whenever I could. This image was shot from my tour bus around the City of Varanasi. I saw many scenes like this as we drove about, showing the harsh living conditions of much of the country: poverty, high density living, and general lack of tidiness (litter). I was also struck by the high level of human activity and colour in the streets, ranging from the very colourful clothes most people wore, the traffic congestion, noise, smells and the many merchants lining the streets. Many examples can be found in my images. All-in-all, a very fascinating and friendly country to visit.
