Model Railroad - Focus Stacking 2
I have been playing with a technique called focus stacking in an effort to capture macro and closeup images which are sharply focused throughout the image. Traditionally, if one were to try to capture an image of a model railroad scene, only a very limited part of the scene would be in sharp focus, because of limited DOF at short distances. In focus stacking, one takes multiple images of a scene, with each image focused at a different distance into the scene. For the image shown here, I shot 15-17 separate images, then loaded them into Photoshop CS6 and used Focus Stacking to blend the sharpest parts of each of the images together, to create a final image that is sharp throughout. This is my second image in this set. More to come.
