Bumble Bee Portrait #1

Hi guys !

 

Here's a photo of a Bee, one of the hardest stacks even to this day IMO.

 

I have tried things in the past with Bee's and they have turned out OK, but not great. I attempted using the 50mm reversed and normally mounted, but both didn't offer much in terms of sharpness, even at F4 and F1.8 which normally give crisp images...

 

Lighting is really hard with Bee's because their hair is dark, yet their eyes reflect the light so much that you get over exposed images no matter what you do with shutter speed, aperture even ISO...

 

Anyway, here's my 2 attempts, the old one I did last year is in the comments, the better of the three IMO.

 

Insight : 50mm Prime

Bellows

2x LED Lamps only

tissue paper and paper used, experimental I know..

1 second - 2 second exposure times and AUTO ISO with some experimenting at 400.

Stack of 60-80 images only.
