Common Ground Beetle Wing
Hi guys !
Here's a photo of that same Beetle but this is the lower wing of it at 20x.
I decided to choose an odd area to photograph and came across it's wings when disecting it so thought they would make an interesting subject to photograph. As with all the wings I have photographed in the past they seem to have many hairs on the exterior, the top of the wing.
I love the structure of the cytoskeleton that also holds the fibres in place, the structure reminds me of microtubles inside a cell running from one side of the plane to the other with brances leading off in other directions for support when in flight.
Hope you like it, this was a relatively quick 40 image stack as I managed to get the wing very flat towards the PLAN.
