Springtail - Dicyrtomina saundersi @ 20x
Hi guys !
Firstly, Happy New Year !
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and new years and I'm back now from Ireland to get on with some micro and revision (unfortunately)..
I decided to get this 2 week old springtail out the freezer and give a 20x stack a go.
The final result needed editing a bit to say the least, but the overall result is good.
I didn't have much control over what I wanted in the image as they are extremely fiddly things and this being only around 1mm in size I didn't want to damage anything on it's exterior in case of having to find yet another.
Strangely, I think this subject was still alive as it seemed to move after around 200+images, the antennae moved from one position to another... even after 2 weeks of freezing !
Techs :
Zerene stacker - 206 images
2x LED Lamps
Ping pong ball diffusing light
Step size - 1um - 3um
Back ground - Blue book lit up from external shade lamp
200mm Extensions and Nikon 20x M plan ( scratchy surface, may need to fork out money for a new one )
Thanks for looking !
