Individual lenses on the Compound eye of a Moth

Hi guys !

Another interesting abstract photo here of the same moths compound eye.

I find the crystal like texture the eye has. I have been recently doing some research into compound eyes and was astonished to find that most insects can distinguish up to 5x as many flashes of light per second than that of a human being. Their compound eyes offer amazing response to movement and the simple eye found on many insects is the light detector.

This was taken with my Nikon 20x M PLAN. Very good little objective :-)

Thanks guys, have a great week !
