Musca domestica - Fly @7x
Woke up very late Yesterday and had a nice lazy saturday, very enjoyable... :)
Decided to take this 2 week old fly, wash it up a bit and do a stack. I really should have leaned it more thoroughly but i was lazy about it and worried i would snap its head off if i messed around too much with it :D
This is using my newer setup, as i talked about in my last post.
Ill try and get a picture of it up soon with some explanation to how i create my work and what i do to the insects to get them in fiddly poses etc as some have been asking me through messages.
The above is a single stack of 290 images, all taken under the same light conditions and a 2.5 second exposure time.
I used a 4x Objective with bellows and extension tubes which ended up at around 7x as i wanted to fill the frame with this one.
I used 2 old lamps diffused through some filter paper stuff i found and helping hands to hold it and the insect in place on the rail.
Got my new remote working and for 3 pounds it works very well indeed !
Hope to get a new image up every few days, trying to improve the gritty bits now and i may go and buy some LED lamps from IKEA instead of these 100watt lamps that get in the way.
Have a great week, hope the weather picks up !
