Strange black Fly - Female Fever Fly
Here's another shot i also got in Delamere, as i took the Macro gear out with me in hopes to find some insects out and about which i luckily did !
I spotted this small black fly sitting on some bark from a meter off as it stood out on the brown surface, have no idea of the type of fly but it made for a great photo !!
The reason i love this type of macro is merely because, although it is not as detailed, with this single image you can still see a LOT of detail on its compound eyes and hairs all over its body and it is more natural.

*This photo was taken with the Canon550D and a 50mm FD prime lens reversed onto some extension tubes. Flash was to the side of the body on full power. Single image, no stack*
