Spiky headed fly ?
That heading was just a guess at best, again, as usual, not sure on name of the fly or species so any biologists good with their eyes can leave a comment to let me know if they wish.
As i state below, using slightly different setup for this photo, slapped the 4x objective on there and had the 2 lamps + flash for more light to bring out its details to the full.
This was one of the easier subjects i've photographed recently, quite a small head ( 2-3mm) but only took 20 photos for a side shot as i didn't need too many shots to fill the frame at this magnification.

The backdrop is just some 'Play Doh' i placed behind the subject, really helps bring out the hairs on its back !
