Eublepharis macularius - Eye of Sauron

In response to the portrait photograph i posted just yesterday of Lola, here's a macro shot of just her eye.

Some interesting facts about Leopard Geckos can be found here ; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_gecko

But things you should know if you are planning on getting one as some people have asked include -

- Easy to look after, minimum care in terms of feeding and handling

- Nocturnal so mainly active at night, but can be woken up during the day time since they do nothing but lay under the heat lamp like they do in the wild under the sun !

- Store fat in their tails so only need to be fed 2-4 times a week, a cricket or grasshopper does the job, mealworms for the older Leopard Geckos only as they can digest the skeletal heads at this point.

- Make superb pets, never bite and can be very tame, my two Geckos know me extremely well and now and again snuggle into my hands and go to sleep :-)

This image was taken with a 50mm FD F1.8 Prime lens reversed onto the camera mount the Canon 550D with the external flash attached to the left of the camera via a flash chord at full power.
