Female Hopper - Portrait Photograph #1

This female Hopper is one of the many i keep in a little enclosure as i feed them to my Leopard Geckos, which you may have seen here on Flickr before.

 

Decided to go for a frontal, head on image with flash at full power to bring out those amazingly colourful compound eyes as either side of her head.

 

My setup consisted of a 28mm Prime f2.8 FD lens reversed onto my Canon 550D body mount.

My flash, the AFD 360, was mounted to the side of the camera body on a mount with a flash chord.

 

Got a male photograph going up in the next few days, and a close macro shot of their amazing compound eyes, enabling you to see each individual lens as well as the pupil in the center of the eye.
