Emmelina monodactyla - Plume Moth

One of the stranger Species of moth here.

The last image i took early 2011 here : www.flickr.com/photos/sequentialmacro/6076375124/in/photo... looks to be a female.

If i am correct in going by the amount of color in most species of organism, color is mainly attributed in males for courtship mating, though whether moths do this is something i'll have to look in to.

 

Hope you all like this image, it was taken with my 50mm f1.8 FD lens reversed onto the camera body. I used a 100 Watt light above the moth for light as well as my flash gun at 1/16th power.
