Garden Spider - Araneus diadematus

A full body shot of the Common Garden spider than has been hanging in the same spot for around a month now, waiting patiently for a fly to come by and get trapped !

The shear amount of hair on their bodies is amazing, it goes to show how they can pick up tiny vibrations in the air, the flap of a small insects wings to sound waves given off by an insects close to its web.

Taken with a 50mm Prime reversed on the Canon 550D body mount.
