Salticus Scenicus - Jumper / Zebra [Cr]

Of course i had to have a picture of one of these amazing creatures in my Photoshare, and this being my best decided to upload it.

Being very fast and jumpy, these guys are probably the hardest thing iv ever had to photograph - Where most insects would quite happily sit and let me get close up, these jumpers would take one look at the camera and leg it ! ( Or jump for it, giving me a hard job in finding them as they camouflage so well )

The Jumping spiders are home to around 5000 different species, 3 of which are most commonly found in the UK, more of which in Africa and Asia, some parts of America such as Oklahoma also home some amazing varied species.

Taken with 50mm prime on a set of extension tubes at F9 with a flash on 1/4 setting at 50mm Zoom of course.

Something that should be noted to those that have never studied these spiders is their amazing 360 degree vision due to their 8 eyes, the two at the front being the main two for binocular vision when hunting prey.
