Mount Tai (Chinese: 泰山; pinyin: Tài Shān) is a mountain of historical and cultural significance located north of the city of Tai'an, in Shandong province, China.

 

Mount Tai is one of the "Five Great Mountains". It is associated with sunrise, birth, and renewal, and is often regarded the foremost of the five. Mount Tai has been a place of worship for at least 3,000 years and served as one of the most important ceremonial centers of China during large portions of this period. (1)

 

泰山是中國五嶽之首，古名岱山，又稱岱宗，位於山東省中部，泰安市境內，矗立在魯中群山間。泰山主峰玉皇頂，海拔1532.7米。泰山是中國第一批國家級風景名勝區之一，又是天然的藝術與歷史博物館。泰山因十八盤，雲海，中天門，迎客松，古往今來文人墨客之題詞等等景點而聞名於世。(2)
