the rally was first intended to demonstrate improvements and innovations in automobiles, and also to promote Monaco as a tourist resort on the Mediterranean shore.

the Alpine A110 was one of the first car really designed for the Alps Mountains race and quickly became a legendary world champion rally car in the early 70
