incorrect vs correct pci backplate alignment - _MG_1467

when compared to a correctly manufactured pci add-in card (at right, another scsi controller circa 1998) you can see where the Supermicro AOC-USAS-S8I Raid Controller circuit board and backplate are supposed to intersect. if your card deviates from this alignment, it won't fit into a standard motherboard and case configuration.
