Wilderstein Historic Site in Rhinebeck, NY; Originally constructed as a 2 story Italianate villa in 1852 for Thomas Suckley, it was significantly remodeled and enlarged in 1888 by his son Robert Bowne Suckley and his wife Elizabeth Philips Montgomery. Poughkeepsie architect Arnout Cannon was hired to transform the home into an elaborate Queen Anne style mansion, including the addition of a third floor, five story tower, porte cochere and porch.
